It's always the rich and there's plenty to waste, yet still China has a lot of people living in very spare, poor conditions.

The media is the message. It carries the full intention and the meaning. Once you change it...it's very disturbing.

China partially wants to become part of the world. By hosting the Olympics and the Expo, they made a big effort to tell people: Look, we are the same. They want to be accepted by the international community.

Once I was in New York, I completely had no interest for a long time in what happened in China because I had been through so much. Just being pushed into this political struggle and the damage done not only to their lives but their relatives.
