Christians alone are in a position to rescue the perishing. We dare not settle down to try to live as if things were 'normal.' Nothing is normal while sin and lust and death roam the world, pouncing upon one and another till the whole population has been destroyed.

No man has any right to speak to men about God who has not first spoken to God about men.

Teach us, O God, that nothing is necessary to Thee. Were anything necessary to Thee that thing would be the measure of Thine imperfection: and how could we worship one who is imperfect? If nothing is necessary to Thee, then no one is necessary, and if no one, then not we. Thou dost seek us though Thou does not need us. We seek Thee because we need Thee, for in Thee we live and move and have our being. Amen.

We Christians must simplify our lives or lose untold treasures on earth and in eternity. Modern civilization is so complex as to make the devotional life all but impossible. The need for solitude and quietness was never greater than it is today.

We please God most, not by frantically trying to make ourselves good, but by throwing ourselves into His arms.

God's Kingdom isn't divided into areas of important people and areas of little people. In God's sight, everyone's needful.

The superior Christian lets God strip him of everything that might serve as a false refuge, a secondary trust.
