If I understand this correctly Christ taught here the alarming doctrine that the desire for honor among men made belief impossible.

To treat an imperfect brother (or sister) impatiently is to advertise our own imperfections.

What does this word holiness really mean? Is it a negative kind of piety from which so many people have shied away? No, of course not!
