God loves you not because you are worthy, but because He is God and you are a fixture in His mind.

Keep my eyes fixed on You, Lord. Help me to stop tinkering and realize my total inability to change. I look to You to change me and give me victory as I focus on Your friendly eyes looking lovingly at me. Amen.

I have no doubt that historians will conclude that we of the twentieth century had intelligence enough to create a great civilization but not the moral wisdom to preserve it.

Nothing is complete in itself but requires something outside itself in order to exist.

To me, it has always been difficult to understand those evangelical Christians who insist upon living in the crisis as if no crisis existed. They say they serve the Lord, but they divide their days so as to leave plenty of time to play and loaf and enjoy the pleasures of the world as well. They are at ease while the world burns.

We can take whatever path in worship we choose, but not all paths will end at the feet of Jesus.

God never uses anyone greatly until He tests them deeply.
