No man gives anything acceptable to God until has has first given himself in love and sacrifice.

The ideal leader is one who hears the voice of God, and beckons on as the voice calls him and them.

God is looking for those with whom He can do the impossible - what a pity that we plan only the things that we can do by ourselves.

God's justice stands forever against the sinner in utter severity. The vague and tenuous hope that God is 'too kind' to punish the ungodly has become deadly opiate for the consciences of millions. It hushes their fears and allows them to practice all pleasant forms of iniquity while death draws everyday nearer and the command to repent goes unregarded. As responsible moral beings, we dare not so trifle with our eternal future.

Come near to the holy men and women of the past and you will soon feel the heat of their desire after God. They mourned for Him, they prayed and wrestled and sought for Him day and night, in season and out, and when they found Him, the finding was all the sweeter for the long seeking.

The cross is the lightning rod of grace that short-circuits God's wrath to Christ so that only the light of His love remains for believers.

Until the Bible begins to talk to us, we really have not been reading it.
