Before there can be fullness there must be emptiness. Before God can fill us with Himself we must first be emptied of ourselves.

A pharisee is hard on others and easy on himself, but a spiritual man is easy on others and hard on himself.

It's hard to rest knowing that millions of people merely carry on religious traditions but don't actually reach God.

What's closest to your heart is what you talk about, and if God is close to your heart, you'll talk about Him.

Whatever God felt about anything, He still feels. Whatever He thought about anyone, He still thinks. Whatever He approved, He still approves. Whatever He condemned, He still condemns. Today we have what they call the relativity of morals. But remember this God never changes. Holiness and righteousness are conformity to the will of God. And the will of God never changes for moral creatures.

The meek man is not a human mouse afflicted with a sense of his own inferiority. He has accepted God's estimate of his own life: In himself, nothing; In God, everything. He knows well that the world will never see him as God sees him and he has stopped caring.
