Whatever may befall us, God knows and cares as no one else can.

The main thing is this: we should never blame anyone or anything for our defeats. No matter how evil their intentions may be, they are altogether unable to harm us until we begin to blame them and use them as excuses for our own unbelief.

It is quite impossible to worship God without loving Him.

I find that when people haven't found God and do not know the new birth and the Spirit is not on them, yet they have the ancient impulse to worship something. If they're not educated they kill a chicken and put a funny thing on their head and dance around. If they are educated they write poetry.

It takes simplicity and humility to worship God acceptably.

I don't want the world to define God for me. I want the Holy Spirit to reveal God to me.

We ought not to be looking for a place to hide, but a place to give ourselves as an offering to God.
