I would encourage young women to find a person, give it your all, and leave it all on the field. The one thing I have found is that, if you are sitting at a table, most women will want to only give their opinion only when it's almost fact in their mind - whereas dudes will pontificate a lot more. And I will tell you, I've started pontificating a lot more, which is very satisfying. Women should not be afraid to speak.

Is there a reason there's not a tampon dispenser in the West Wing basement?" And it was like, "No." Nobody had really just ever thought about putting it there. It's an important story to tell because, well, it was important to do because we needed them, but I think that it's more, like, you should always ask questions.

I think you can't dip your toe in and dip your toe out. I think either you're in it or you're not.

Find someone who you really believe in - that can be at a state level. The one thing I can encourage women to do the most is to start at the state level.

I saw Obama's thought process behind the few moments of free time he had and how he used them. So, I knew that him taking the time to call me meant he really cared and really deeply understood how upset I was. That's what made it so meaningful.

If you look at Obama - I think that what you saw during those eight years, and in those last few weeks, was that he really loves people and he is going to miss them. And that he deeply appreciate the opportunity he was given.

I think the best conversation to have been able to eavesdrop on was the one the minute after it was called that Trump would be the next president of the Unites States. Because by all indications, it does not seem anybody thought they were going to win. That is the moment I wish I could have been a fly on the wall. Or, like, in the microwave, whatever.
