I notice that my characters go out to dinner and have fun and take these great trips, but I spend so much time on their lives, I donโt have much of a personal life of my own. I have to sort of remember to fill out that little notebook on me.
Angelina JolieWith my family, I'm trying to raise them to have respect for all people and make friends around the world and feel at home with the world and really live a truly global life because I think it's what forms them and it's really important to me.
Angelina JolieI'm shy to call myself a director still. When someone says, 'What do you do for a living?' I don't know if I've earned that.
Angelina JolieI can tell my children that they don't need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer.
Angelina JolieFirst thing in the morning, we're really tired, and we look at each other and we wonder, 'Are we ever going to get sleep?' And yet, it doesn't matter if you don't get sleep. It's an honor to take care of them.
Angelina JolieI learned a lot from Clint [Eastwood], who's an extremely economic director. I learned a lot from Michael Winterbottom, who really gave a lot of trust in the actors and allowed them to live in the space instead of trying to manipulate and make it too set and too staged. Working with [Robert] De Niro taught me a lot of being an actors' director and what that is. I've learned a lot from pretty much everybody. Hopefully I've picked up something from everybody I've worked with.
