People in every country should be free to choose and live their faith based upon the persuasion of the mind, and the heart, and the soul. This tolerance is essential for religion to thrive.

I find it hard to believe that my God would consign four-fifths of the world to hell. I can't imagine that my God would allow some little Hindu kid in India who never interacts with the Christian faith to somehow burn for all eternity. That's just not part of my religious makeup.

It is time to leave behind the divisive battles of the past. It is time to move forward as one nation.

Nobody's changing what you've got. You get to keep it.

I believe in term limits for presidents because I think that there is no doubt I'm a better president now than I was when I start.

Maybe at the same time as I'm more confident today, I'm also more humble.

Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation
