I thought, well, why am I giving up on my primary dream to work doubly hard, to do something as an alternative to what it really still want to?

I never really got obsessed about one thing for long. I was a bit of a butterfly and a magpie.

When are you ever settled enough to have kids?

One of the fears of having too much work is not having time to observe. And once you get recognised, there is nowhere for you to look any more. You can't sit on a night bus and watch it all happen.

I've been broody since I was 12, but I can't just get anyone pregnant. It has got to be the right person.

The guy [Doctor Strange], he's like most of us, he's uncorrupted flesh from the beginning of his life, he's somebody who's not marked with original sin or any kind of crap like that. He's somebody who's come into this world and had experiences that have shaped him to the point that we first meet him. There's always got to be leverage. I think there is some clear explanation of that within this film, but potentially further down the line...for more of that to come out as well.

There are moments when, like all of us, you get a bit self-conscious and you'd rather not be living any of your day in public. Those are the awkward times, but you've got to have fun with it.
