The fossil fuel industry for too long has shifted enormous costs of carbon pollution onto the public.

...Poverty in America today leads not only to anxiety, unhappiness, discomfort and a lack of material goods. It leads to death. Poverty in America today is a death sentence for tens and tens of thousands of our people.

We are living at a time where a handful of people have wealth beyond comprehension - huge yachts, jet planes, tens of billions of dollars, more money than they could spend in a thousand lifetimes. But at the same time, millions of people are struggling to feed their families or put a roof over their heads or find the money to go to a doctor.

We are not going back. Not only are we not going to retreat on women's rights, we are going to expand them. We are going forward, not backward.

I think people have a right to speak. And you have a right if you're on a college campus not to attend. You have a right to ask hard questions about the speaker if you disagree with him or her.

I did a lot of reading. I read about democratic socialism. And I read about the efforts of people for such a long time trying to create a society in which all people can live with dignity. And that's kind of what I believe.

Obviously one would hope one would have as much support as possible from all walks of life, i am a great fan of Elizabeth and as for what people do and why they don't do it, I am not going to speculate.
