Let us wage a moral and political war against the gross wealth and income inequality... ...let us understand that when we stand together, we will always win.
Bernie SandersWhat we need to do is to stand up to the big money interests, and the campaign contributors. When we do that, we can, in fact, transform America.
Bernie SandersEvery candidate running for president has got to answer the following very simple question: At a time when we need to address the planetary crisis of climate change, and transform our energy system away from fossil fuels and into energy efficiency and sustainability, should we continue to give $135 billion in tax breaks and subsidies over the next decade to fossil fuel companies?
Bernie SandersI think we've got a number of states coming up that we're going to do extremely well and possibly winning, including California and New York state. So I think we do have a path to victory.
Bernie SandersNow all of the ideas that I'm talking about, they are not radical ideas. Making public colleges and universities tuition free, that exists in countries all over the world, used to exist in the United States. Rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, and creating 13 million jobs by doing away with tax loopholes that large corporations now enjoy by putting their money into the Cayman Islands and other tax havens. That is not a radical idea.
Bernie SandersI think we are making progress, but we have long way to go. People also have got to understand the agenda that we are fighting for. This is a senator who has taken on every powerful special interest, whether it's Wall Street, whether it's drug companies who are ripping off the American people, the military industrial complex.
