No sin, no matter how momentarily pleasurable, comforting, or habitual, is worth missing what God has for us.

If we only understood that when we devote our lives to the glory of God, our existence on planet earth will leave marks---eternal marks.

Setbacks, on the other hand, just make us feel weak and stupid: I should have conquered this by now. I happened on a question not long ago that oerfectly expresses this mentality: How many times must I prove myself an idiot?

Better to admit where you're not and ask God's help to get you where you need to be.

In my morning time with God, I ask Him to fill all my hollow places with His lavish, unfailing love. This frees me from craving the approval of others and requiring them to fill up my “cup.” Then, if someone takes the time to demonstrate his or her love for me, that's the overflow! I am free to appreciate and enjoy it, but I didn't emotionally require it!

He (God) is determined to pursue you because He knows the greatest joy in your life will come from His lan for you.

We can grow so accustomed to being spoon-fed the Word of God that we sometimes forget how to examine the Scriptures for ourselves.
