I wrote "Bootylicious" because, at the time, Iโd gained some weight and the pressure that people put you under, the pressure to be thin, is unbelievable. I was just 18 and you shouldnโt be thinking about that. You should be thinking about building up your character and having fun and the song was just telling everyone just forget what people are saying. Youโre bootylicious. Thatโs all. Itโs a celebration of curves and a celebration of womenโs bodies.
Beyonce KnowlesI'm very proud of my sister and protective of her. Solange is the one person I will fight for. Don't talk about my sister; don't play with me about my sister. If you do, you'll see another side of me. I admire her, and though she's five years younger than me, I strive to be like her. She's so smart and secure. She's sensitive to people's feelings, but not afraid of what they think.
Beyonce KnowlesI felt like God was giving me a chance to assist in a miracle. There is something so relieving about life taking over you like that. You're playing a part in a much bigger show. And that's what life is. It's the greatest show on earth.
Beyonce KnowlesThere are a lot of things I never did, because I believe in watching those true Hollywood stories and I see how easy it is to lose track of your life.
Beyonce KnowlesWhen I hear a great new record, especially when it's by someone that I respect and admire, then a part of me is like, Why didn't I think of that? Why didn't I write that record? It makes you sick, but in a way it can be a great thing. It makes you want to go back to the lab and start writing again. Maybe it will inspire you to try a little harder.
