In my travels I have found that those who keep Heaven in view remain serene and cheerful in the darkest day. If the glories of Heaven were more real to us, if we lived less for material things and more for things eternal and spiritual, we would be less easily disturbed by this present life.

I'm going to Heaven just like the thief on the cross who said in that last moment: 'Lord, remember me.'

The thought of the future life with its prerogatives and joys helps to make the trials of the present seem light and transient.

Jesus Christ is the greatest man in the history of the world. And to me, he's the greatest person in the history of mankind and the universe. We can't prove it, I can't put it in a test tube or in an astronomical formula, but by faith I believe it because the Bible teaches it.

I also would have steered clear of politics. I’m grateful for the opportunities God gave me to minister to people in high places; people in power have spiritual and personal needs like everyone else, and often they have no one to talk to. But looking back I know I sometimes cros­sed the line, and I wouldn’t do that now.

Only God Himself fully appreciates the influence of a Christian mother in the molding of character in her children.

If God can be fully proved by the human mind, then He is no greater than the mind that proves Him.
