Every season is so much different and you go through your ups and downs, you figure your team out, you get to play against great teams. Some of the best competition there's been since I've been in the league. Just every night, night in and night out we get to play against the top guys, the top teams. It's a lot of fun.
Blake GriffinI'm thankful for some of bad experiences I've had. They helped me with the way I view people and see them for who they really are.
Blake GriffinIt seemed like we were losing every night for a different reason. Now we're winning a different way every time. It's a great feeling.
Blake GriffinThis must be how the guys in Space Jam felt when MJ gave them their powers back through that old basketball.
Blake GriffinEnergy is something you can control, in everything you do, you're going to face people more talented than you. I set myself apart by bringing more energy than they do.
Blake GriffinSometimes you get lucky - you don't put much work in and you're successful anyway. But over the course of time, if you really want to shape your path, I think it's about the quality of the time you put in.
Blake GriffinI was very healthy from a young age. I was always known as the healthy kid in my group of friends. My mom had us drink barley-grass powder, and I've taken vitamins and fish oil and multivitamins since I was a kid. My mom just had me doing that for a long, long time. And I enjoy eating healthy. It's not a chore to me to eat healthy food.
Blake GriffinAny time you add something to your game, you still have to find ways to improve, so I'm still studying the game and trying to find out ways to increase how we use me on the floor. You're not being complacent, not falling back and floating around the perimeter too much, figuring out when to attack. I'm trying to find that balance between attacking and spotting up and things like that.
Blake GriffinTeams want me to do something stupid. You want to get to the point where nothing affects you, where you control them.
Blake GriffinI followed Taylor everywhere. I was always trying to catch up after him or go with him.
Blake GriffinThey really just taught me at an early age the values of hard work. Both my parents are two of the hardest working people that I know, so that was a big foundation for me and something I really cherish and it really helped me to grow up in that kind of household.
Blake GriffinWhen I was younger, I was just always looking for - you're always looking for this hot, so hot, like super-hot girl. And then, as I've gotten older, different things are really important to me, like just honesty. Being able to sit down and have a conversation.
Blake GriffinIf you love the game and you love playing, just have fun and enjoy it. Work hard and don't get bogged down by it.
Blake GriffinBasketball has always and will always come first to me but it's also given me the chance to do really fun things and work with really fun people and its something I'm lucky to have.
Blake GriffinOnce you become complacent and once you're happy with your performance or whatever it is, I don't think you'll get better as quickly.
Blake GriffinAfter you have a big game, you can't just say, 'That's it, I've arrived,' by any means. I'm always pushing it to be better. You always want to be better than you are, no matter what. I think that's important.
Blake GriffinMy dad was a huge basketball influence in my life on and off the court. Playing for him and having him around, having him push me harder than maybe another coach would have was a huge blessing for me. Getting to play with my brother was an unreal experience at Oklahoma, in college, it's some of the funnest times I've had in basketball, and I'll cherish those memories forever.
Blake GriffinCollege. I didn't even realize it was carefree at the time, but looking back, that was the most carefree time ever.
Blake GriffinI wanted to play in the NBA, I wanted to play sports, I wanted to do all this. And I have. I think I am becoming a man.
Blake GriffinMy goal is to let people see who I am as a person, not just a basketball player. Many people see athletes in a certain way - flat and one dimensional. I want to change that view.
Blake GriffinI'm going to be working on my shot. Working on extending my range. Keep working on everything, and really studying the game.
Blake Griffin[When] I was young and I listened to everything - I took everything to heart. I didn't really realize how much people want to talk badly about you when you're down, or kick you when you're down. As basketball players, people think everybody's ultra-confident. But that's not the case.
Blake GriffinYou know when grandparents get older and they can't do things for themselves anymore? I'm gonna struggle with that. Because I hate depending on people to do anything for me.
Blake GriffinI guess it's good in a sense that it stops any of it from happening, but now you're telling me if it's Game 7 of the NBA Finals and a guy has a chance to make a play he's going to be like, 'Well, do I want this $10,000 or do I want a championship?'
Blake GriffinActing is the great love of my life. It gives you permission to use all parts of yourself. Permission to be the hero, the love interest, the comedian, the villain. Transformation excites me. So does truth. Nothing is more thrilling, hilarious, and tragic than the truth. Those things motivated me to become an actor. Also, they always have the best food on set.
