The discomfiture we feel may be our most accurate human sensation; reminding us we are not quite "at home" here.

If we really think that home is elsewhere and that this life is a wandering to find home, why should we not look forward to the arrival?

The Calormens have dark faces and long beards. They wear flowing robes and orange-colored turbans, and they are a wise, wealthy, courteous, cruel and ancient people.
