My suggestion for a fast style upgrade would be to embrace a pop of color or pattern. Try layering a bright, pullover knit on top of a dress shirt with a subtle or bold pattern.

Control what you can control. Don't lose sleep worrying about things that you don't have control over because, at the end of the day, you still won't have any control over them.

My parents do a lot of things behind the scenes that go unnoticed.

I think dressing nowadays went from trying to fit in to wearing something to try to stick out.
