Because my faith is important to me and then they wrote it in that my character I would be playing would also be a Christian, many people would often assume now that I'm playing myself on television. And I'm not.

I figure this is my time - to relax, be with my family and have a normal life.

I had no style when I was 17! I look at teenagers now and say, 'I wish I'd looked like them when I was that age.' I had no style whatsoever, but style also wasn't as prominent as it is today. I was just very laid back, usually wearing jeans and tank tops and flip flops.

Raising children has given me a compassionate and gracious heart for all children and people, realizing we don't always know the circumstances behind closed doors.

The best advice I've ever been given is being handed a Bible. That's the blueprint for marriage that we go by, and that's what our marriage is grounded in. We also have other married couples who are examples in our lives. My parents have been married over 40 years, and both sets of grandparents for over 65 years. When you see couples in long-term relationships and you see them go through good times and bad times, you realize it's about being committed enough and loving your partner enough to hang in there regardless.

We turn off the TV, video games and computer - except for homework - during the week. The TV's reserved for Friday night, Saturday and Sunday just because that's the time to do homework, and it makes it that much less chaotic in our house.

Once I got my driver's license everybody treated me like I was an adult.
