One of the things my mother taught me when I was a child was just keep your eye on the prize and as long as you feel that you're right with your creator and you're right yourself, then other people's opinions really don't matter.

I'm a huge advocate of prayer. I've been praying since I was fifteen years old and the doctor told me I was going to be a mother and I was like "what?" I started praying that day that God would help me do what I needed to do to be a good mother and to raise this baby boy that I was going to be blessed with. I haven't stopped praying in years.

There are certain religions that require you to pray five times a day and I never understood why Christians aren't asked to pray five times a day.

Pray five times a day for peace. Peace in your life, peace in your spirit, peace in your family, peace in your community, in your city but most importantly peace in this world.

That's the reason I believe in the power of prayer, because I believe you have to be able to first believe in a being superior to you, You have to believe in God and once you're able to believe in God and embrace the greatness of the creator, then you're able to believe in yourself and embrace the greatness that God put into you and each of us, and you're able to tap into that. But there will be days.

I believe you should pray as hard on those up days as you do on the down days.
