From the Word of God I gather that damnation is all of man, from top to bottom, and salvation is all of grace, from first to last. He that perishes chooses to perish; but he that is saved is saved because God has chosen to save him.

There is no healing a man till the law has wounded him, no making him alive till the law has slain him.

The saved man is not a perfect man, but his heart's desire is to become perfect.

If you rest on the finished work of Jesus you have already the best evidence of your salvation in the world; you have God's word for it; what more is needed?

God gave me this great book to preach from, and if He has put anything in it you think is not fit, go and complain to Him, not to me. I am simply his servant, and if His errand that I am to tell is objectionable, I cannot help it.

If the professed convert distinctly and deliberately declares that he knows the Lord's will, but does not mean to attend to it, you are not to pamper his presumptions, but it is your duty to assure him that he is not saved.
