Your sorrow itself shall be turned into joy. Not the sorrow to be taken away, and joy to be put in its place, but the very sorrow which now grieves you shall be turned into joy. God not only takes away the bitterness and gives sweetness in its place, but turns the bitterness into sweetness itself.

When you receive Christ into your heart, He cannot be taken away from you!

Look to the cross, and hate your sin, for sin nailed your Well Beloved to the tree.

It is not your hold of Christ that saves you, but His hold of you.

Never be afraid of the world's censure; it's praise is much more to be dreaded.

He is ready to cleanse you, It is sin, after all, that lies at the door and blocks you way to the Savior.

God be thanked when the Law so works as to take off the sinner from all confidence in himself! To make the leper confess that he is incurable is going a great way toward compelling him to go to that divine Savior, who alone is able to heal him. This is the whole end of the Law toward men whom God will save.
