God is our portion, Christ our companion, the Spirit our Comforter, Earth our lodge, and Heaven is our home.

A person who is really saved by Grace does not need to be told that he is under solemn obligations to serve Christ. The new life within him tells him that. Instead of regarding it as a burden, he gladly surrenders himself, body, soul, and spirit, to the Lord.

If the Savior has not sanctified you, renewed you, given you a hatred of sin and a love of holiness, He has nothing in you of a saving character.

When men's hearts are melted under the preaching of the word, or by sickness, or the loss of friends, believers should be very eager to stamp the truth upon the prepared mind. Such opportunities are to be seized with holy eagerness.

Our extremities are God's opportunities.

Alas, if our children lose the crown of life, it will be but a small consolation that they have won the laurels of literature or art.

The Holy Spirit can cast out the evil spirit of the fear of man. He can make the coward brave.
