Darkness is the fit hour for beasts of prey, and ignorance the natural dwelling place of cruelty.

An unholy church! It is useless to the world, and of no esteem among men. It is an abomination, hells laughter, heavens abhorrence. The worst evils which have ever come upon the world have been brought upon her by an unholy church.

O believer, learn to reject pride, seeing that you have no ground for it. Whatever you are, you have nothing to make you proud. The more you have, the more you are in debt to God; and you should not be proud of that which renders you a debtor.

Christ is the great central fact in the world's history. To Him everything looks forward or backward. All the lines of history converge upon Him.

Right is right though all condemn, and wrong is wrong though all approve.

Does the world satisfy thee? Then thou hast thy reward & portion in this life; make much of it, for thou shalt know no other joy

A little faith will bring your soul to heaven; a great faith will bring heaven to your soul.
