The angels must often be astonished at us and think we are the strangest creatures that well can be, yet they love us, and therefore they take a great interest in that Gospel that promotes our highest good.

We may be certain that whatever God has made prominent in His Word, He intended to be conspicuous in our lives.

The Savior will sanctify His people, renew them, give them a hatred of sin, and a love of holiness. The grace that does not make a man better than others is a worthless counterfeit. Christ saves His people, not IN their sins, but FROM their sins. Without holiness, no man shall see the Lord.

A sheep in the midst of wolves is safe compared with the Christian in the midst of ungodly men.
