If I come across an issue, or something I feel strongly about, and I happen to think of a song that would go in that direction, then I do it. But that's not what I start out, necessarily, to do. Sometimes I may have an idea for a song - "Well, I'm going to write about a thing.

I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ... if I can't take him with me, I don't want to go.

I just feel such freedom to do whatever. If a song's seven minutes or ten minutes long, then so be it - it's that long.

What this world needs is a few more Rednecks.

I couldn't care less about politically correct.

I don't want to be without God's blessings. If it's inconvenient, then it's just inconvenient. If somebody don't like it, then somebody just don't like it. That is part of me. That's who I am.

If I can't take Jesus Christ with me, I don't want to go.
