We are caught in a traffic jam of discursive thought.

Our bodies demand our attention; our bodies demand that we actually pay attention to what is going on with our lives.

Fearlessness is extending ourselves beyond our limited view.

The point is that whatever one is trying to learn, it is necessary to have firsthand experience, rather than learning from books or from teachers or by merely conforming to an already established pattern.

If you look into the mirror, you see that [every part of you] belongs there and you belong there, as you are. You begin to realize that you have a perfect right to be in this universe, to be this way, and you see that there is a basic hospitality that this world provides to you. You have looked and you have seen, and you don't have to apologize for being born on this earth.

Anything that is created must sooner or later die. Enlightenment is permanent because we have not produced it; we have merely discovered it.

When we clean up after ourselves, we have nothing to blame. When we begin to live our lives in that way, cleaning up after ourselves, what is left is further vision and further openness, which leads to cleaning up the rest of the world.
