With faith . . . we must walk to the edge of the light and into the darkness. As we so walk I testify and promise that the light will move. When I was your age and wondering some of the exact same things that you are now wondering, I never would have imagined that someday [we] would be at Ricks College serving as we are. . . . I know the light moves as we walk in faith to the edge of the light.

A grateful person is rich in contentment.

Ordinary people who faithfully, diligently, and consistently do simple things that are right before God will bring forth extraordinary results.

Prayer becomes more meaningful as we counsel with the Lord in all of our doings, as we express heartfelt gratitude, and as we pray for others.

Inspired questions will bring about inspired answers. Seek for the companionship of the Holy Ghost as you prepare.

We should remember that bearing a heartfelt testimony is only a beginning. We need to bear testimony, we need to mean it, and most importantly we need consistently to live it. We need to both declare and live our testimonies.

I believe the best test of our integrity and honesty is when we personally enforce in our own lives that which ultimately cannot be enforced.
