Catharsis is about cleansing and healing at one and the same time - healing memories and attitudes, healing the spirit and the heart.

Are you able to restore to those people the time when their freedom was denied them? If you have evidence for goodness sake produce it in a court of law. People with power have an incredible capacity for wanting to be able to retain that power and don't like scrutiny.

Anything war can do, peace can do better.

There are things that must evoke our anger to show we care. It is what we do with that anger. If we direct that energy we can use it positively or destructively.

South Africa, so utterly improbably, is a beacon of hope in a dark and troubled world.

Anywhere where the humanity of people is undermined, anywhere where people are left in the dust, there we will find our cause.

Each one of us is not a divine afterthought.
