Forgiving is not easy. It is not cheap.

One of the ways of helping to destroy a people is to tell them they don't have a history that they have no roots.

You think sometimes that maybe if the person who hurt you is clobbered you will feel a little better. But it actually doesn't.

Forgiveness is abandoning your right to revenge.

Forgiveness does not mean condoning what has been done. Forgiving means abandoning your right to pay back the perpetrator in his own coin.

People in apartheid South Africa can tell you that God cursed black people when they cursed Him. And so the hermetic people were condemned to be drawers of water and of wood.

I can't control what happens to me, but I can control how I respond to it.
