God cannot endure that unfestive, mirthless attitude of ours in which we eat our bread in sorrow, with pretentious, busy haste, or even with shame. Through our daily meals He is calling us to rejoice, to keep holiday in the midst of our working day.

The beginning of love for the brethren is learning to listen to them.

Many people are looking for an ear that will listen. They do not find it among Christians, because these Christians are talking where they should be listening.

God does not give us everything we want, but He does fulfill His promises.
