Joy draws its nourishment from quietness and from the unfathomable.

So the fool, as distinct from the scoundrel, is completely self- satisfied; in fact, he can easily become dangerous, as it does not take much to make him aggressive. A fool must therefore be treated more cautiously than a scoundrel.

The disciple simply burns his boats and goes ahead. He is called out... The old life is left behind, and completely surrendered. The disciple is dragged out of his relative security into a life of absolute insecurity... out of the realm of the finite...into the realm of infinite possibilities.

A king who dies on the cross must be the king of a rather strange kingdom.

Help must come from the outside, and it has come and comes daily and answers in the Word of Jesus Christ.
