The first service that one owes to others in the fellowship consists of listening to them. Just as love of God begins with listening to his word, so the beginning of love for our brothers and sisters is learning to listen to them.

Gratitude changes the pangs of memory into a tranquil joy.

It is a blessed thing to know that no power on earth, no temptation, no human frailty can dissolve what God holds together.

Comfort the troubled, and trouble the comfortable.

Consequently there is a need for spiritual vitality. What protection is there against the danger of organisation? Man is once more faced with the problem of himself. He can cope with every danger except the danger of human nature itself. In the last resort it all turns upon man.
