If our country got along with Russia, that would be a great thing. When Putin goes out and tells everybody - and you talk about a relationship, but he says Donald Trump is going to win and Donald Trump is a genius, and then I have people saying you should disavow. I said, I'm going to disavow that?

What we've inherited from our ancestors has never existed to this extent before. And if we fail to preserve it, it will never, ever exist again. So we cannot fail.

Wal-Mart announced it will create 10,000 jobs in the United States just [2017] year because of our various plans and initiatives.

Other people have to understand where we are coming from, including our allies. Our allies have taken advantage of us.

I used to get great press. I get the worst press. I get such dishonest reporting with the media. I've never had anything like it before. It happened during the primaries, and I said, you know, when I won, I said, "Well the one thing good is now I'll get good press." And it got worse. So that was one thing that a little bit of a surprise to me. I thought the press would become better, and it actually, in my opinion, got more nasty.

I have never fired anyone or kept anyone because of ratings or because of entertainment. I keep the people that I think are the best.

I will say this, I will rely on [Mike ] Pompeo and [James] Mattis and my group.
