I've produced and gotten to do a lot of optimistic love stories, and that was so where I was at for 10 years in my life. And now I feel like, Okay, now I know how to do that. I want to get scared again; I want to feel the way I felt when I started my company, when I started producing.

I took the stairs and felt like my childhood took the elevator.

I loved the world of roller derby because I thought it was such an empowering metaphor, that you get out there and do it. It's such a rocker, athletic, capable, cool exhibitionist sport; it's about this great sort of camaraderie.

I loved Duran Duran's "Girls on Film" - it was really sexy and naughty and totally weird. When you're a kid watching that stuff on television you're like, "Well, we are opening up as a society!"

I'm sure wine snobs look at me and think, how dare you.

I just think happiness is what makes you pretty. Period. Happy people are beautiful. They become like a mirror and they reflect that happiness. If somebody walks in the room and they're drop-dead gorgeous and sexy, it's really fun to look at. But if someone is giving of their spirit and they make you laugh and feel good, that's a whole other level of beauty.

It's my crusade to help women feel good about themselves.
