My evolution into becoming a photojournalist started with falling in love with literature when I was a teenager, falling in love with novels and imagining a life of being a storyteller.

I have never been more excited than I am today about making pictures.

What I observed in western Azerbaijan, among the small portion of the nearly one million Azerbaijanis who were displaced by the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh two decades ago, are a people who are aching to return to their homes.
