It is interesting that so many people who become disenchanted, who protest against their own organizations, are people who contributed something to them and then saw how it was misused.

The US government is not going to be able to cover this up by jailing or murdering me. Truth is coming, and it cannot be stopped.

We can still publicly post a message to Facebook that's globally readable. But we could also adjust things so that they can only be shared with those closest to us, and the confident that this is enforced through both legal and a systemic standards-based protection.

The public needs to know the kinds of things a government does in its name, or the 'consent of the governed' is meaningless... The consent of the governed is not consent if it is not informed.

We have the means and we have the technology to end mass surveillance without any legislative action at all, without any policy changes.

Properly implemented strong crypto systems are one of the few things that you can rely on.
