I think the hardest obstacle I've ever had to overcome in my life is the illness and passing of my mother to cancer.

While success has hardly come overnight for me, it always comes.

I have a deeper compassion for those living with cancer, as well as their family members. And now when someone tells me that a loved one passed away, I feel it deeply, as though it were my own relative.

I grew up as an only child, and my mother was a single mom. It's always been "us." If it weren't for her nurturing and guiding my artistic talents at a young age, I don't think I'd be a professional actress and performer today.

I just love seeing people embrace freedom, faith, and courage in the face of enormous odds.

I had always been an overachiever, so I felt I could just "wing it," reasoning that if I don't set clear, written goals I wouldn't have to account for anything if I failed. Now I'm the opposite! I am always setting goals, and I get very specific about where I'm going and take the time to learn the steps needed to take to get there.
