Sometimes our preoccupation is on having friends. Perhaps we should focus on being a friend.
Elaine S. DaltonYour vision of your future will help you press forward. Take a few minutes to envision where you want to be in one year or two or five. Then take action to prepare yourselves. People donโt just run a marathon when they decide to do it. They must train daily, slowly building stamina and endurance to run the 26.2-mile distance. So it is with life. It is daily diligence with prayer and scripture study that will help you reach your goals. Your daily decisions will influence generations.
Elaine S. DaltonVirtue is the strength and power of daughters of God. ... If all humanity really understood the importance of the statement โWe are daughters of our Heavenly Father,โ how would women be regarded and treated?
Elaine S. DaltonYou have a great destiny before you. This is your moment! I truly believe that one virtuous young woman, led by the Spirit, can change the world.
Elaine S. DaltonA return to virtue must begin individually in our hearts and in our homes. You are the guardians of virtue.
Elaine S. DaltonAs you climb the mountains of life, stay on the path of virtue. There will be others to help you- your parents, family members, bishops, advisers, and righteous friends of all ages. And if you are weary or take a wrong turn, change your direction and get back on the path of virtue. Always remember that the Savior is there for you. He will enable you to repent, strengthen you, lighten your burdens, dry your tears, comfort you, and continue to help you stay on the path.
Elaine S. DaltonYoung women you will be the ones who will provide the example of virtuous womanhood and motherhood. You will continue to be virtuous lovely praiseworthy and of good report. You will also be the ones to provide an example of family life in a time when families are under attack, being redefined and disintegrating. You will understand your roles and your responsibilities and thus will see no need to lobby for rights.
Elaine S. DaltonI see the angel Moroni, standing atop the temple, as a shining symbol of [our] faith. I love Moroni, because in a degenerate society, he remained pure and true. He is my hero. He stood alone. I feel somehow he stands atop the temple today, beckoning us to have courage, to remember who we are and to be worthy to enter the holy temple, to 'arise and shine forth,' to stand above the worldly clamor and to, as Isaiah prophesied, 'Come to the mountain of the Lord'-the holy temple.
Elaine S. DaltonDon't let the low standards and expectations of the world and others cause you to aim beneath your nobility and ability-dream big! What I know and have learned is that anything worth doing is not easy and that we can do anything that is not easy if we believe.
Elaine S. DaltonIf you desire to make a difference in the world, you must be different from the world.
Elaine S. DaltonPrepare now for the temple, the mountain of the Lord. Never allow the goal of the temple to be out of your sight. Walk into His presence in purity and virtue, and receive His blessingsโeven 'all that he hath.'
Elaine S. DaltonThe world would have you believe that you are not significant, out of touch, and out of style. But remember who you are-a child of God! You must have the courage to stand out and let your light shine like a beacon for all to see.
Elaine S. DaltonThere is no more beautiful sight than a young woman who glows with the light of the spirit who is confident and courageous because she is virtuous.
