Fashion is born by small facts, trends, or even politics, never by trying to make little pleats and furbelows, by trinkets, by clothes easy to copy, or by the shortening or lengthening of a skirt.

Dresses that are truly beautiful are never unfashionable.

Eating is not merely a material pleasure. Eating well gives a spectacular joy to life and contributes immensely to goodwill and happy companionship. It is of great importance to the morale.

A dress has no life of its own unless it is worn, and as soon as this happens another personality takes over from you and animates it, or tries to, glorifies or destroys it, or makes it into a song of beauty.

Remember, 20 percent of women have inferiority complexes, 70 percent have illusions.

The way is open to everybody who has the will, the ambition, the respect for work, and the IT.

Dress designing, incidentally, is to me not a profession but an art.
