We live in a time where the media is a very difficult thing to navigate because it's everywhere, and I tend to want to be a lot more private with my life.
Emily VanCampPilates is my favorite core strengthener. I do it three or four times a week. With all the strengthening and lengthening, it's like ballet. Plus, you get to do it lying down!
Emily VanCampThe unfortunate thing, and the tragedy of this show [Revenge], is in exploring the theme of revenge. Absolutely everyone can find peace, at some point or another, but the interesting thing is how you find it, the collateral damage along the way and all the trauma that she indirectly causes all these other people in her circle.
Emily VanCampI think it's important to be with a guy who has a strong sense of integrity. That's how I was raised, and that's something I look for.
Emily VanCampOddly enough, I think that everybody can relate to revenge, on some level. Everyone has wanted to exact it, at some point, and everybody has tampered with the idea, even if they didn't actually go through with it.
Emily VanCampI've given up looking for a boyfriend. That's not to say I won't be interested if the right guy comes along. But I'm not in a hurry.
Emily VanCampI think women look for that quality in a man of being a good dad whether they're immediately wanting to be a parent or not.
Emily VanCampYou put the picture of the ideal person in your head and then someone comes along and they don't fit that ideal at all. But somehow there is something about them that is so attractive. Everyone that I have fallen for has not fit that ideal at all.
Emily VanCampIt's very important to be able to distinguish the actors from the characters they play.
Emily VanCampI think the relationship between mother and daughter is so interesting, even in a semi-normal family. Emily Thorne/Amanda Clarke's family relationship is going to be so interesting to explore. It is going to give me so many places to go. Obviously, it has been said that she is not the most stable of characters. What is interesting about that, when you think about mental health, is that young women will often come into those problems and difficulties in their 20's, so it is very possible that this will start to affect her psyche.
Emily VanCampI've been dancing my entire life. Jazz, hip hop, ballet. And then there's tap dancing. I love to tap.
