I can't help moving my face - reacting - when I watch a movie, because I'm really inhabiting a character. I know this is weird, but it demonstrates what I love about cinema: it allows you to live a different life, to have a different experience, to disappear for two hours. I think it's wonderful.

The importance of balance is huge but I think it is for everybody. It's a big issue for at least anyone that I talk to in any career.

Anyone who's making a huge impact or speaking out about what they believe in or who's brave enough to be themselves is a superhero to me.

I get nervous when I do print interviews because I know that whatever I say is going to be shown through the lens of whomever I'm talking to. So I've read a lot of different versions of myself - and all of them are true because it's all opinion and they're as accurate as it can ever be. But I don't think that I've been deft at hiding parts of my personality.

Dancing is such a community feeling.

I moved to New York when I was almost 21 and I've lived there for almost eight years, now I have a totally different relationship to L.A. There's like all this space and it's so beautiful seeing all these different landscapes and all my friends are here so now I really like it so much but my adjustment period was a little like "What a strange town".

Those people that have hardened to rejection or hardened to life in general, it's pretty hard to feel them. You know, to look at their eyes on screen and feel them. I guess that's specifically talking about actors, but I think that's probably [true] in general. You want to keep your skin thin.
