I can't help moving my face - reacting - when I watch a movie, because I'm really inhabiting a character. I know this is weird, but it demonstrates what I love about cinema: it allows you to live a different life, to have a different experience, to disappear for two hours. I think it's wonderful.
Emma StoneYou're only human. You live once and life is wonderful, so eat the damned red velvet cupcake.
Emma StoneI think Skeeter even says that when she calls up Miss Stein. "No one asked Mammy how she feels in Gone With The Wind." Mammy wasn't really much of a fleshed-out character. She was just kind of there to take care of Miss Scarlett.
Emma StoneYou can always veer off the path, that's one thing that has really comforted me over the past year. When you think, 'I can't do something because of this, this and this,' you can actually do anything you want. I could go ballistic right now and tear this whole room apart. I could. I'm not going to, because logic is stopping me, but you can do whatever you want. You really can veer off any path at any time - never give up.
Emma StoneThose people that have hardened to rejection or hardened to life in general, it's pretty hard to feel them. You know, to look at their eyes on screen and feel them. I guess that's specifically talking about actors, but I think that's probably [true] in general. You want to keep your skin thin.
