Learn this from the waters: in mountain clefts and chasms, loud gush the streamlets, but great rivers flow silently.

Awake. Be the witness of your thoughts. You are what observes, not what you observe.

Any material form, or thought, or feeling, past or present, should be regarded as, 'This is not mine, this is not what I am, this is not my self.'

Follow then the shining ones, the wise, the awakened, the loving, for they know how to work and forbear.

As a flower that is lovely and beautiful, but is scentless, even so fruitless is the well-spoken word of one who practices it not.

There has to be evil so that good can prove its purity above it.
