I love the message that Barack Obama said - that we want Donald Trump to succeed because we want America to succeed. I'm sort of following that. I think there's been a lot of frustration for a lot of people, but at the end of the day we all want this country to survive and thrive and be the superpower that we know it is.

For morning news, people want to know as they are getting dressed, as they are getting ready to leave [for work], "what has happened in the world overnight?" Morning news is a sure-fire way to find out what that is. I personally love and celebrate the fact that you can go to bed and the world is one way and you wake up and it's totally different.

With growth comes change.

A good restaurant just makes me giddy. I can go all day with anticipation just knowing where I'm going to eat. Sometimes it's well planned, sometimes it's spontaneous. Either way works.

People respond faster to you on a text than an e-mail. Why is that? Why will they ignore an e-mail, but get back to a text?

How do I love Tim McGraw? Let me count the ways: I love that he's a country boy with a city sensibility. I love that he refuses to be pegged, and his duet with Nelly proves it. And I really love that he had the brains to marry Faith Hill.

I fell into TV quite by accident but once I was in a newsroom for the very first time, I was hooked because I loved the adrenaline. There was a breaking story that day and people were running around to get the news on the air. I thought, Jesus, how do you get to do this? So, that's how it started. The bulk of my career was in TV.
