People must be free to work, to save, to own their own home, to take risks, to invest in each other and, in essence, to control their own lives.

Know what you're talking about.

I can tell you this: If I'm ever in a position to call the shots, I'm not going to rush to send somebody else's kids into a war.

The day will come - and it is not far off - when the legacy of Lincoln will finally be fulfilled at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, when a black man or woman will sit in the Oval Office. When that day comes, the most remarkable thing about it will be how naturally it occurs.

Study hard; and you might grow up to be President. But let's face it: Even then, you'll never make as much money as your dog.

We know what works: freedom works. We know what's right: freedom is right. We know how to secure a more and just and prosperous life for man on earth: through free markets, free speech, free elections and the exercise of free will unhampered by the state.

It's too much show business and too much prompting, too much artificiality, and not really debates. They're rehearsed appearances.
