If people would just wake up to what's real, there would be no misery in the world. I guess chanting's a pretty good place to start.

Once I chanted the Hare Krishna mantra all the way from France to Portugal, nonstop. I drove for about twenty-three hours and chanted all the way. It gets you feeling a bit invincible. The funny thing was that I didn't even know where I was going. I mean I had bought a map, and I knew basically which way I was aiming, but I couldn't speak French, Spanish, or Portuguese. But none of that seemed to matter. You know, once you get chanting, then things start to happen transcendentally.

And the time will come when you see, we’re all one, and life flows on within you and without you.

Many people fear the words Lord and God.

It's all in the mind.

So it's really a process of actually having a realization of God, which all becomes clear with the expanded state of consciousness that develops when you chant.

I guess that's the business of devotees - to make you think of God.
