When you see a threat, you just can't hope for the best in this day and age, where terrorists are capable of inflicting damage on the homeland.

As I look back over my life, I've been an active person - obviously I was self-absorbed for a period of time.

But let us never forget ... beyond Europe's borders, in a world where oppression and violence are very real, liberation is still a moral goal, and freedom and security still need defenders.

The North Korean regime remains one of the world's leading proliferator of missile technology, including transfers to Iran and Syria. The transfer of nuclear weapons or material by North Korea to states or non-state entities would be considered a grave threat to the United States, and we would hold North Korea fully accountable of the consequences of such action.

Civility is not a tactic or a sentiment. It is the determined choice of trust over cynicism, of community over chaos.
