When youre touring and the minute you tell someone that youre from Jersey its the equivalent of telling them you just got out of jail.

I start my process hand written, and then I dump it in. It's like you're getting a second draft 'cause when I put it in the computer, I fix it and change stuff. That's my process. I picked that up from speaking to Neil Gaiman and Joe Hill. I was messing around with the idea of starting to write more, writing a book and doing things like this, and I reached out for advice. They were like, "Oh, we hand write, and then we dump it all in." I was like, "Great! There's no more blank pages."

I think there needs to be people that are doing something different in music. There's a need for that as much as there's a need for a scene.

I learned to see beauty in everything and ugliness in everything. I developed a very honest perspective.

Thinking visually is my starting point, and then the writing happens.

Just draw 'cause you love it, you know, I think that's why you should be doing it. You should always be doing art for the right reasons, um, and with the best intentions. Anything at all is completely possible and I think that's what I like about drawing. I think it's just really fun. You can do anything you want. And that's part of, like, what's really enjoyable about it... is kind of losing yourself in it.
